---------------Strategic Vehicles 2---------------

An utterly insane mutator by Missilemaster

Installation: Just extract the whole thing to your UT2004 folder and everything should go to the right place. If not,
put all the files (except this one) in System.

This entire mess is contained in a mutator, so just add "Strategic Vehicles" from the mutator list, set the
properties how you want them, and go have fun with this much less boring conversion of UT2004's vehicles!

If you run a server, add this to ServerPackages:
ServerPackages=StrategicVehicles

---Utilities---

This is a collection of handy devices for doing various ridiculous things with your vehicles. Each human player will
get one of these when they spawn, but not (completely) randomly--the game will make sure each team has the same set
of weapons, as long as the same number of human players are on each team. (Bots aren't given utilities.) The ones
available to distribute can be chosen from the mutator configuration screen.

Vehicle Archiver: If you have used version 1 of this mutator, this is the Storage Rifle, with team colors and no
vehicle merging (see next utility). If not, this is a tool for storing vehicles. Shoot any reasonably small vehicle
to store it, and when you need it again, do a shock combo to recreate it. The shock sphere it launches can be caught
by anyone else with an Archiver or Duplicator (see below) equipped, which stores the vehicle inside. Not the craziest
utility available, but very useful...your enemies may never figure out where the heck that Goliath came from. When you
first select the gun, it will tell you some semi-useful information about it, like its approximate health and extra
details such as whether a stored Scorpion still has either of its blades.

Vehicle Modifier: If you've ever wanted to put a more powerful gun on your Scorpion, this is the utility for you! This
thing can remove any weapon from most vehicles and put it on another, creating some nasty combinations (Manta-Tanks,
Raptor-SPMAs, etc.). Use primary fire on an unoccupied, unlocked vehicle to remove the weapon nearest to where your shot
hit and place it in storage, then shoot another vehicle with altfire to exchange its weapon for the one in storage (or
just place the one you have if a weapon is missing). Just remember--primary=place, alt=remove/exchange. Weapons can only
be placed in vehicle slots that originally had a weapon. (You can't add a turret to the driver slot of a Hellbender.)
Better duck and cover...that Raptor has a tank turret!

Vehicle Remote: The tool for those who want to fight without getting killed, this thing does just what you'd expect--it
lets you take control of any unlocked vehicle and drive it around...without actually getting in! You can do pretty much
anything while remotely controlling a vehicle that you could normally, except when you press use to get out, you'll still
be standing wherever you were when you turned the vehicle on. Like with the Redeemer, you're vulnerable while using the
Remote, so you should find a good spot to hide in before turning on the vehicle. Use primary fire to start up any empty
and unlocked vehicle instantly, or use altfire to "tag" it and press altfire again (while not facing the vehicle) to
turn it on. Use altfire on a different vehicle to move the tag to that vehicle. Note-You can't steal vehicles with the
Infiltrator while remote-controlling...see 'Infiltrator' below.

Vehicle Upgrader: As you'd expect, this device can "upgrade" your vehicles, instantly making them faster and more
maneuverable. It can also add a shield generator to one vehicle, which charges whenever the vehicle is being driven
and has a maximum strength of about half the vehicle's normal health. For fairness reasons, the shield starts fully
discharged and will be reset if the player holding the upgrader is killed (it's usually best to only put a shield on
your own vehicle, so it isn't deleted unexpectedly from someone else's when you die). Use primary fire to upgrade any
vehicle (though you probably shouldn't aim it at an enemy vehicle!) and altfire to place your shield generator on a
vehicle. Unlike the shield, upgrades last as long as the vehicle, so upgrade every friendly vehicle you can find!

Vehicle Duplicator: A better name might be "Vehicle Recycler". This tool is used to create an exact copy of any
small-ish vehicle; it can absorb matter from the air to do this, but this is very slow (building a Scorpion would take
about 5 minutes!). To speed up this process tremendously, just find (or create?) some destroyed vehicles; it will
automatically suck them up and store the material it collects. This stored material can be built into a vehicle
relatively quickly, creating a Scorpion in about 30 seconds or a Goliath in slightly more than a minute. Team up with
someone with a Modifier or Upgrader to manufacture armies of super-vehicles! Use primary fire to choose a vehicle to
copy (even enemy locked vehicles can be copied...if you don't have a tank, duplicate one!); any material already in an
under-construction or completed vehicle will be moved back to storage when you do this, so be careful. Once you have
the "blueprint" for the vehicle, there's no need to copy it again; you can create as many replicas as you like as long
as you have enough material. (The gun can store up to 1000 "units"; the number of units needed to build a vehicle is
equal to its health.) Do a shock combo to create the vehicle when it is finished. When you select the gun, it will tell
you what type of vehicle is currently being copied (if any), how much stored material you have, and how long it will
take to finish the next vehicle. (This gets very high if you don't have enough material already stored to build the
vehicle, so run over to smashed vehicles whenever possible!) If a vehicle is ready to go, it will just tell you some
information about it and how many extra mass units you have left.

---Vehicles---

These are modified versions of all the basic vehicles (except the Leviathan); all of them look the same and have the
same amount of health as normal, and mostly have the same weapons...but they are massively different from the original
vehicles. Keep reading to find out what I mean...

Flying Scorpion: For anyone who thinks, for whatever reason, the Scorpion isn't mobile enough already. Extend
the arms of this Scorpion while moving fast enough, and it will activate several jets and take off into the sky! Guide
it around with the mouse, and either close the blades or decelerate to land. Decelerate instead of just closing the
blades if you need to land within a small area; suddenly closing the blades doesn't work very well unless you have a
long runway. Steering it is possible but tricky...it will take some practice to learn how to turn quickly without losing
too much velocity and falling. And be careful not to break either of the blades, unless you like traveling slowly.

Infiltrator (Manta): (This one has had some significant changes since the old version.) A vehicle thief's best friend,
this vehicle will allow you to steal vehicles that are still being driven! By simply crashing into an enemy vehicle,
the Infiltrator will eject the first enemy it finds inside and put you in his seat. After waiting a few seconds to see
if anyone will try to steal your Infiltrator (anyone who does will get a nasty surprise), it will self-destruct,
allowing a new one to respawn, while you destroy the enemy in your newly stolen vehicle. Just be sure they don't steal
it back! In the config menu, you can choose to let the Infiltrator steal locked vehicles (!) or to make it punish
friendly theives as well as enemies (not recommended for botmatches!). The simplest defense against these is to just
blow them up before they get close, but you can also just bring a passenger; only the driver will be ejected and the
passenger will (automatically) eject the thief after a few seconds. If this is done successfully, that vehicle will be
permanently protected against infiltration. If you're in a Flying Scorpion, be sure to take off if an Infiltrator gets
close; even if it manages to hit you, it still can't infiltrate an airborne rocket-car.

Stealth Raptor: As you can probably guess, this is a Raptor that is able to cloak itself. Altfire toggles through normal
mode (fully visible but can use plasma guns with Fire), basic cloak mode (partial cloak like the Invisible combo,
but Fire becomes the less useful rocket launcher), and advanced cloak mode (completely invisible, but
weapons don't work at all). Bots will react pretty realistically to the cloak; you can fly right in front of them with
the advanced cloak on and they'll ignore you completely. Just remember that humans may notice the engine noise,
and can even see you if something hits you. Obviously, this vehicle is great for any kind of sneak attack. Try
combining it with the Vehicle Archiver to safely transport more powerful vehicles around the map, or combine it with a
Redeemer to destroy a node easily!

Spacecraft Carrier (Goliath): An interesting modification of the Goliath that turns it into an armored, mobile
launchpad for space fighters. A third passenger slot has been added for the "launchpad"; just get in that slot
and press fire to launch yourself off in a space fighter. Keep in mind that it has a limited number of them!
(How many that is can be set in the mutator.) Note that these are toned-down fighters; normal fighters are just way
too powerful, so these have only 100 health and can't fire missiles. They are still very powerful, though, especially
if you have several flying around. When you take damage or are done using a fighter, fly low over any Carrier with
empty slots to land in it, which stores and repairs the fighter and puts you back in the Launchpad; from there, you
can take off again in a fixed fighter, take control of the tank if it's empty, or just get out.

SpaceBender (HellBender): This cornily named truck has the ability to teleport to a previously marked location.
Press fire to attempt to set a "warp node" at your current location (this can't be done if you're in the air), and
press altfire (also while touching the ground) to teleport back to it. Unless "Two Way Warping" is turned off, it will
set a warp node at its old location after warping, allowing you to teleport back intead of driving back. If "Warp Surfing"
is allowed (also on by default), players near a warping Spacebender will be taken with it...and will take significant
damage for not keeping their hands, or any other body part for that matter, inside the Spacebender at all times. This
vehicle is obviously very useful for moving soldiers around, and when used with the Vehicle Archiver it can also
transport vehicles. The Hellbender is no longer (just) cannon fodder!

---Known Bugs---

1. Bots act very oddly when using the Stealth Raptor; usually they ignore it when it's fully cloaked but sometimes they
will just suddenly start attacking it. They also refuse to stop attacking it when the cloak is activated (if a bot is
shooting you and you turn the cloak on, it will still know where you are), which is probably the reason for the first
problem. All attempts to fix this have had no effect...but if you're careful to always cloak before any of the enemy
bots can see you, you should have few problems.

2. Your teammate bots will sometimes continue attacking an enemy vehicle if you steal it with the Infiltrator; the cause
of this is unknown but it's probably related to the problem above.

3. If you put a Paladin shield on a vehicle with altfire and turn the shield on, you will be unable to turn it off.
Unfortunately this is because of a dumb hack put in by its creator, and it's impossible to fix without making the ECE
bonus pack a requirement. This happens pretty rarely, since Paladins aren't used that often and many vehicles can't turn
the shield on anyway because they have a special altfire function (Scorpion blades, Manta crouching, Goliath zooming...),
but if it does come up you can turn it off by removing the weapon with a Vehicle Modifier and putting it back on or by
storing the vehicle in a Vehicle Archiver and re-creating it.
